Executive Summary
nweautocare.com · Full-site SEO audit · October 3, 2026 · fixes updated October 7, 2026
Northwest Express Auto Care is a family-founded auto repair and tire shop at 19144 W Little York Rd in Katy, TX, opened in 2017 and backed by a 36-month / 36,000-mile TechNet nationwide warranty. Customers like the shop: the Google Business Profile shows 4.5 stars from 268 reviews, and reviewers mention the service manager, David, by name. The website has plenty of pages (87 published) and is server-rendered, so search engines can read it. It still earns very little from search: Semrush shows 42 keywords and about 98 visits a month. It ranks #1 for its own name, but nowhere in the top 100 for "oil change katy" (320/mo), "auto repair katy" (210/mo) or "tire shop katy" (170/mo).
Four problems come before any SEO work. First, a complete 1.8 GB backup of the website, including the database, can be downloaded by anyone (C1). Second, Google, Bing and Brave all send this business's "Website" clicks to nwautocaretx.com, the duplicate site another agency (Clutch Clicks) built. It's the domain we flagged on August 4, and it has since grown from 23 to 142 keywords (C2). Third, the page sitemap crashes with a PHP memory error, so Google has been given none of the 87 pages (C3). Fourth, we have no access to Search Console, even though someone verified it (C4). After those come about 25 duplicate and leftover pages, a phone experience that takes 34.6 seconds to show its main content, and a reviews widget that puts a 1-star "they will rip you off" review on every page.
Fix Progress (October 7, 2026)
Live now: the backup is no longer public and credentials were rotated; the sitemap works; there is a page cache (TTFB ~0.35 s, was ~0.82 s); images went from 250 MB to 75 MB; CLS dropped from 0.66 to 0.02–0.09; each page has one H1 with service + Katy; the business schema has valid hours, geo and 6 sameAs; FAQ schema is on 9 pages; the reviews widget is filtered; there is a phone Call/Book bar and sitewide quick links; and there are security headers, conversion events, an AI-crawler allow and llms.txt. New content: a transmission cost & financing guide, two blog posts, and make-specific sections on the 9 make pages that already rank. Remaining performance weight is the Divi 5 beta's inline CSS and third-party scripts (chat widget, Pixel, GA4); the fix is the Divi beta→stable update, tested on staging first. Semrush rankings will take 2–6 weeks to reflect these changes.
Search Visibility Snapshot
We pulled this today from Semrush (US database). domain_rank shows 42 organic keywords and about 98 visits a month: 3 in positions 1–3, 5 in 4–10, and 13 in 11–20. 27 of those keywords show a local map pack and 5 show an AI Overview. The wins: #1 for "northwest express auto care" (110/mo), #1 for "transmission flush katy" (110/mo, on the leftover page /auto-repair-in-katy-tx/), #3 for "northwest auto care", and #9 for "lincoln repair katy" (140), "cadillac repair katy" (140), and "shocks and struts replacement katy" (140, also on an old page). The car-make pages sit just behind them on page 2: "jeep repair katy" #12 (210/mo), "lincoln service katy" #14 (210), "gmc repair katy" #14, "nissan repair katy" #15, "chevrolet repair katy" #18, "chrysler repair katy" #20 (210). The gaps are the money searches with no ranking page at all: "oil change katy" (320/mo), "auto repair katy" (210), "oil change katy tx" (210), "tire shop katy" (170), "mobile mechanic katy tx" (170), "auto repair katy tx" (140), "transmission repair katy" (110/mo at $8.04 a click), and "brake repair katy" (70/mo at $9.57 a click). For comparison, katyautocare.com has 223 keywords and about 1,168 visits a month, and dillonsautomotive.com has 638 keywords and about 1,245 visits. The duplicate nwautocaretx.com now has 142 keywords and about 27 visits.
Category Scores (re-estimated October 7; October 3 baseline shown as "was")
Weighted total: 6.16 + 9.66 + 11.0 + 3.5 + 1.8 + 3.0 + 1.0 = 36.1, rounded to 36/100. Two supplemental dimensions are reported on their own pages and aren't part of the weighted score: Local & Maps 55 and Visual & Mobile 45. Some basics are already in good shape: every page has a unique title, a self-referencing canonical, and server-rendered text, the redirects are clean, and WordPress core passes its integrity check. The score is low because of what surrounds that: a public backup, a broken sitemap, about 25 duplicate or leftover pages, a mobile page that's 2.3 MB of HTML before any images load, and 83% of images with no alt text.

What We Saw
Category Summaries
Clean HTTPS redirects and verified core files. A public 1.8 GB backup, a crashing page sitemap, no Search Console access, about 25 duplicate pages, 26 orphan pages, two unknown admins, and no security headers or DMARC.
Plenty of words, a real founding story, and a strong warranty. Duplicated service pages, 40 near-identical car-make pages, a 1-star review in the widget, "NWE-certified" claims with no proof, and no answer-first FAQs.
An AutoRepair node with the right address and phone. Invalid and wrong hours, no geo, no sameAs, no price range, and every page marked as an Article by "albertgalopastor1987."
Homepage mobile 16 (LCP 34.6 s, CLS 0.754), Brake Repair mobile 27, desktop 59 and 39. About 2.1 MB of inline CSS per page, an 820 ms server response, and Google Analytics loading three times.
A clean dark-and-orange desktop design. On phones there's no call or Book button in the first screen, the headline overflows, the layout jumps around, and zoom is blocked.
Server-rendered and crawlable. But ChatGPT (via Bing) and Claude (via Brave) see the duplicate site, a 2.5-star Yelp rating, and conflicting hours and history, and there are no FAQs or prices written for them to quote.
A strong profile (4.5 from 268 reviews, with owner replies) and 27 keywords with a map pack. Held back by the website link to the duplicate, the "Northwest Express Care" name, and hours that differ across directories.
Day 1: close the backup and fix the Google listing's website. Week 1: sitemap, Search Console, duplicates, reviews widget. Weeks 2–6: speed, schema, entity cleanup. After that: the AI / SEO Playbook Action Plan.
Top Highest-Impact Fixes
| # | Fix | Expected Impact | Effort |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Take the 1.8 GB backup out of the public folder; change the database password, security keys, and admin passwords (C1) | Closes the most serious risk on the site | 30 min (Quick Win) |
| 2 | Change the Google listing's website to nweautocare.com, then agree with the client what happens to nwautocaretx.com (C2) | Google, Bing, and Brave stop sending this business's traffic and authority to the duplicate | 15 min + client call |
| 3 | Fix the page sitemap, get Search Console access, and submit the sitemap; add Bing Webmaster Tools (C3, C4) | Google and Bing are officially given all the real pages, and we get a measurement baseline | 1–2 hrs |
| 4 | Limit the reviews widget to 4–5 stars (H5) | No more "rip you off" review next to the Book button | 15 min (Quick Win) |

| 7 | Cut the 2.1 MB of inline CSS, compress the hero images, put call and Book buttons in the mobile header (H4, H7) | Phone visitors see the page and the phone number in seconds, not half a minute | 4–6 hrs |
What's Working Well
- A strong Google profile: 4.5 stars from 268 reviews, owner replies on recent reviews, and reviewers praising "David there service manager," the office staff, the prices, and fast, quality work
- #1 for the business's own name, #1 for "transmission flush katy," and 8 keywords in the top 10, including three car-make pages (Lincoln, Cadillac) and shocks and struts
- Every page's text is in the raw HTML (server-rendered), so Google, Bing, and AI crawlers can read it. Every page has a unique title and a self-referencing canonical, the http/www redirects take one hop, and WordPress core passes its integrity check.
- Real trust assets most competitors don't publish: a 2017 founding story, a 36-month / 36,000-mile TechNet nationwide warranty, posted coupons with dollar amounts, a military discount, and three financing options
- A full service menu (brakes, A/C, transmission, steering and suspension, engine, diagnostics, maintenance, inspections, tires) with a page for each service in the main navigation
- Wide citation coverage: BBB, CARFAX, Nextdoor, MapQuest, YellowPages, D&B, AutoTechIQ, Chamber of Commerce, and BestProsInTown (4.8 from 65 reviews) all list the same address and (except Nextdoor) the same phone
- Today's work is already improving things: a Privacy Policy page went live, which the new Facebook lead form for transmission replacement needs
